The Municipality of Polanco reaffirmed its deep-rooted faith and cultural heritage as it celebrated Duyog Pasalamat Festival: Sinulog sa Polanco 2026, continuing a long-standing tradition of devotion to the Santo Niño under the leadership of Mayor Shaia Ruth Uy.
Anchored on thanksgiving and unity, the annual festival—patterned after the iconic Sinulog Festival—has been a staple of Polanco’s cultural and religious identity. This year’s celebration underscored the local government’s commitment to preserving and strengthening the tradition for future generations.
Festivities began with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass, reflecting the community’s enduring devotion, before transitioning into a lively showcase of culture and creativity. Street dancing and tribal competitions took center stage, as contingents from various schools and barangays—including Tribu Malipayon, Tribu Kabatan-Onan, Calicanon, and Sianib National High School—performed vibrant routines in colorful costumes inspired by the Sinulog’s signature rhythms and movements.
The celebration also featured the Festival Queen pageant, highlighting local talent and grace, alongside a full lineup of entertainment activities that drew crowds from across the municipality and neighboring areas.
Capping off the festivities was an evening performance by Rowell Divina, popularly known as “Pambansang Uga,” together with other musical guests who energized the audience. The local government awarded over ₱300,000 in prizes to outstanding performers and winners of various competitions, recognizing excellence and dedication among participants.
Mayor Uy, along with local officials, emphasized that the continued celebration of Duyog Pasalamat: Sinulog sa Polancoreflects not only a tribute to faith but also a deliberate effort to sustain a unifying tradition. They noted that the festival serves as a platform to strengthen community ties, promote cultural pride, and inspire collective gratitude.
As one of the municipality’s most anticipated annual events, the festival remains a cornerstone of Polanco’s cultural calendar—bringing together residents in a shared expression of devotion, identity, and celebration, while ensuring that the spirit of Sinulog lives on for generations to come.
