The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Polanco proudly celebrated its strong performance after securing 3rd Place Overall in the 16th Zamboanga del Norte Federation of Government Employees Union (ZNFGEU) Inter-Government Agency Sportsfest, held on September 8–11, 2025, in Dipolog City.

The annual sportsfest, organized by the Civil Service Commission – Zamboanga del Norte Field Office IX (CSC-ZNFO) and hosted by the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte, gathered 34 participating agencies composed of Local Government Units (LGUs), National Government Agencies (NGAs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs).

Now in its 16th year, the event continues to highlight unity, wellness, and camaraderie among government employees—proving that public servants excel not only in governance but also in sportsmanship.

Team Polanco delivered an impressive showing under the Polanco Municipal Government Employees Association (PMGEA). The delegation captured gold medals in Women’s 50M Swimming, Airgun Shooting BR 50 and BR 25 (Women), Mountain Bike (39 and below category), Pickleball Doubles – Women (40 and above), and Pickleball Mixed Doubles (40 and above). They also earned a silver medal in Pickleball Doubles – Women (39 and below) and a bronze medal in Women’s Lawn Tennis.

In total, Team Polanco secured six gold, one silver, and one bronze—a collective achievement that solidified their Top 3 position.

Mayor Shaia Ruth “Ying” Uy, who is known for her passion for sports, contributed to the medal tally by winning two golds in Swimming and Airgun Shooting. She praised the entire team for their unity and determination.

“This victory is not only about medals—it is about unity, dedication, and the heart of every Polancohanon who competed and cheered. LGU Polanco has once again proven that we can excel not just in governance but also in sports,” Mayor Uy shared.

With renewed determination, LGU Polanco sets its sights on an even stronger performance next year.
