Promoting Women’s Rights and Community Wellness

A lecture was conducted by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Zamboanga del Norte discussing important topics such as Women’s Rights, Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC), and other laws that protect and uphold the welfare of women.

The activity aimed to educate women about their rights, legal protections, and the importance of standing against abuse and discrimination.

Following the lecture, LGU Polanco also provided free services for women in the municipality, including medical check-ups, massage therapy, manicure, pedicure, haircut services, and distribution of seedlings.

These initiatives reflected the local government’s commitment to caring for and valuing the women who continuously contribute strength, compassion, and dedication to the community.

“As a woman and as Mayor, I will continue supporting programs that empower women. There is no limit to what women can achieve,”  Mayor Ying emphasized.

Livelihood Support for Women’s Associations

As part of the municipality’s continuing support for women’s livelihood and economic empowerment, LGU Polanco also distributed 300 Zampen chicks to 30 Duyog Women’s Associations across the municipality.

The livelihood assistance program was made possible through the support of the Department of Agriculture, through the initiative and request of Congressman PinPin Uy.

The local chief executive also expressed gratitude to the LGU team who assisted in the retrieval and distribution of the chicks to ensure that the program reached the intended beneficiaries.

The initiative aims to provide additional livelihood opportunities and sustainable income sources for women’s organizations in Polanco.

Through these meaningful activities, the Municipality of Polanco once again demonstrated its strong commitment to recognizing, empowering, and uplifting women in the community.
