The Municipality of Polanco once again demonstrated the true spirit of bayanihan and compassion as residents came together for a successful two-day Mass Blood Donation Drive, gathering an impressive total of 362 blood donors from different barangays and sectors of the community.

Held on April 17, 2026 at the De Venta Perla Covered Court and on April 18, 2026 at the Obay Covered Court, the activity aimed to help save lives by encouraging voluntary blood donation and strengthening the municipality’s support for healthcare and emergency response efforts.

The bloodletting activity received a high turnout of participants, reflecting the growing awareness and willingness of Polancohanons to take part in meaningful community and humanitarian initiatives.

145 Volunteers Donate Blood in De Venta Perla

The first day of the activity in De Venta Perla successfully gathered 145 volunteer blood donors, all united by one purpose — to help save lives and give hope to patients in need of blood transfusions.

Local officials expressed their gratitude to the volunteers who selflessly participated in the activity, emphasizing that every donation could make a life-changing difference for individuals facing medical emergencies and critical health conditions.

“Dako kaayo ninyo’g natabang sa paghatag og kinabuhi ug paglaum sa uban,” Mayor Ying Uy shared as she thanked the donors for their generosity and compassion.

The strong participation during the first day also encouraged more residents to join the continuation of the activity the following day.

Obay Mass Blood Donation Draws 217 Donors

The second day of the blood donation drive at Obay Covered Court recorded an even bigger turnout, with 217 donors participating in the life-saving initiative.

Residents from various barangays lined up early to take part in the activity, showcasing the unity and volunteerism of the Polanco community.

Organizers and medical personnel described the overwhelming support as inspiring, noting that every blood bag collected has the potential to save multiple lives.
